March has been a busy month for Gibsons Landing B.C. with the official opening of the Gibsons Public Market, and the new Gibsons Tapworks microbrewery, just down the street from the future George Gibsons Residences and Resort Hotel.
The long awaited Gibsons Public Market opened this month with a fabulous array of fresh market offerings including a gourmet cheese shop, a butcher, fish vendor, green grocer, a chocolate company, bakery, and florist. Award winning Emelle’s Catering provides gourmet healthy lunches in the gleaming new interior overlooking the marina.
Nestled in a lane way behind the Marine Drive shops and art gallery is the new Gibsons Tapworks, a new community hub and microbrewery, offering a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The new Tapworks is literally steps from one of the hottest new restaurants in town, Nova, featuring inventive farm to table delicacies, fine wines, and new menu features daily. Check their web site for winter/spring hours.
The George Gibsons Waterfront Residences will be a short stroll from everything in Gibsons Landing, and prove to be very appealing to Vancouver ‘downsizers’ looking for a relaxed new waterfront home with style. Now that spring has arrived, here’s an update from the developer of the George Waterfront Residences re: project progress.
“Site clearing for the George Gibsons Marine Resort and Residences began in the fall of 2016, in anticipation of excavation permits forthcoming from the Town of Gibsons. This is the largest multi-purpose development that Gibsons has ever seen, and as such, the town planner, engineering staff, and council are in the process of thoroughly processing all information, peer reviews, and required reports prior to granting excavation and construction permits.”
