Eight reasons people love living the Gibsons B.C. life

March 17, 2017

Gibsons B.C. on the beautiful Sunshine Coast is still one of the Vancouver lower mainland’s best kept secrets. Aside from the seaside character and the natural amenities, the new Gibsons Public Market officially opened its doors on March 4, an amazing meeting facility and fresh grocery market that brings another great amenity to the historic Gibsons Landing, the future home of the George Gibsons Residences. Also, the new Gibsons Tapworks opened just down the street, adding a second craft brewery facility to the Gibsons B.C. area.

During recent interviews, several area residents told us why they love living in Gibsons B.C. and the Sunshine Coast. They all migrated from Vancouver during the past decade in search of a Sunshine Coast B.C. new home and the “dream life;” a calmer and quieter community close to Vancouver; one that is sustainable with a wide variety of recreation, shopping and services. Here’s what they said:

“We’ve been around the world and we chose Gibsons. There’s something really special here.”

“We like the calm and the quiet, and the sense of community.”

“When we discovered it was only a 40 minute ferry ride from Vancouver to the Sunshine Coast, we were in!”

“The first time I set foot here, I knew this was where I wanted to spend the rest of my life.”

“It’s a bit like the dream life. This is a lifestyle we never had in England.”

“There’s an easy flow, an easy gentler way of living in Gibsons – exactly opposite to Calgary.”

“I used to think the air was fresh in Vancouver, but it is really fresh here.”

“Everything grows on the coast. I’m a foodie and I love all the fresh farm gate products in the Gibsons area.”
